Did you know that there are people out there who willingly pay huge prices for perfume bottles.These bottles have no real value, they are not antique and are mass manufactured so there is no rarity value.
The people who purchase these bottles are the kind of people who enjoy fragrances created for the likes of Chanel, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Yves St Laurent, Hugo Boss, Lancomme,Giorgio Armani, Prada, Christian Dior and Paco Rabanne and many more.
What is really peculiar is that the people who buy these bottles are unaware that they are paying these outrageous sums of money for what is in reality, truly worthless.
These self same people also think nothing of paying up to and sometimes over £100 for a perfume that is only worth two to three pounds.
Lets take a typical example;
Chanel No5 has been around for decades and is a truly classic perfume but truth be told the perfume in a Chanel bottle has cost less than £2 to produce. Add another pound and that is all it costs to make and distribute, just £3.
Add on 200% profit for the manufacturer and seller the price should only be £12, so why does a small bottle cost around £100? So the price of the bottle is £88, are they mad?
If the buyers of these perfumes have that much money to waste, can they please throw some of it my way?
